Pelvic Floored Vision & Mission (the origin story)

Jan 31, 2025
  • Vision:  To Save the World, One Pelvis at a Time, Starting With YOU
  • Mission: Reducing Geographic, Financial, and Psychosocial Barriers to Accessing Kick Ass Pelvic Health Care and Information.

Pelvic Floored was formed in 2020, with my Big Hairy Audacious Goal to help as many people access world class pelvic health information with one single click.

It was born from my experiences in 20 years in the Pelvic Health field, as a medical professional and as a human.

Personally, I had a very traumatic experience with the delivery of my first child.  At the time, I had been a pelvic health PT for 10 years, but had primarily focused on incontinence and pelvic pain, so had limited experience in pregnancy and delivery.

To say I was woefully prepared is the understatement of the century.

I, and my child, almost died, and following that experience, I decided that I would do whatever I could, in my power and profession, to ensure that no women, child or partner, suffered trauma like my husband and I did.  And, just like that, in 2012, Push Prep, a Birth Prep class that would actually help the mother and birth partner, was born.

As a professional, I was often frustrated that I would regularly have a 2-3 month waitlist…then when those clients would finally be seen, many would report symptom resolution within 1-2 visits.  That’s great!  But I thought…what if these clients could have access to something to get better faster, sooner.  I began to wonder “How many MORE people could I help, if I could synthesize even a bit of my knowledge and information?”

In an effort to reach more people than I could with one:one visits, in 2015, I began to offer online and in-person training for “regular people” as well as medical professionals.  It was a rousing success, with me reaching over 1000 “regular people” and another 1000 medical professionals in the first year alone.  It’s 2015, and the idea of pelvic health streamable online courses is now simmering….

Flash forward to fall of 2019.  Both of my children were in school for the first time, so with my copious free time, I decided that the time was now or never to launch these online courses that I had been dreaming of.  I purchased the url, joined social media…and off I went. And for 3 months…things were REALLY smooth, and amazing.  I developed courses while kids were at school 3 days a week, saw clients 2 days a week, and was pleased with the progress :)

Then...Enter December of 2019...Plot Twist...

After COVID arrived in December of 2019...the world "shut down" in March of 2020...and suddenly "all that free time" that I had, during which I "was going to finally realize my dream" of Pelvic Floored, was gone.

Had I been a "rational human"...perhaps I would have recognized that continuing to surge forward on this BHAG of developing these online courses WHILE ALSO homeschooling my children AND also working 3 days a week was going to be overwhelming...

Apparently I am not a rational person.  Because I stormed ahead.

I kept working, home-schooling, and working on online courses between when kids would go to bed and 1-2am.

Through heck or high water, in November of 2021, I launched my Signature Series, the closest thing to Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy that you can have in an online course, and the best pelvic floor exercise program on the internet, at the time, in my humble opinion :)

2022 saw Push Prep, Vag Lab, and my Pregnancy Courses launch, with Morning Chalk Up featuring the Weight Lifting in Pregnancy Module of The Pregnancy Course.  2023 was a “learning year” following a trademark issue (thanks to “that person” in Australia who stole my logo for a book—they helped me push my Trademark forward), and a new website, as well as offering our courses on tablets and iPhones via the Kajabi app.

2022 also saw the opening of Pelvic Floored’s first “brick and mortar” in person location, in Driggs, Idaho, which immediately filled all spots, and has remained full to this moment.

2024 birthed Dr. Kelly’s Treasure Chest, my first subscription service to further improve access for people across all price points, and...

2025 brings Pelvic Floored’s first additional staff members for in-person and online care, and will see my often-requested Professional Facing course see daylight, as well as all the original courses receiving a facelift.  Some original courses will be "retired and rebranded" within the Treasure Chest, so snag them while you can, and be sure to be vocal with what you love, so you don't lose it if you love it!!
